A project was commissioned to build 41 new build properties in Wigan and the Greater Manchester area. The open plan design of the new build properties allowed for a much better quality of living for the occupants but presented a number of fire safety compliance issues outlined by the National House Building Council (NHBC).
The Fire Suppression Company were approached by the Architect and Main Contractor to design a discreet and efficient water mist system that would meet the standards set by the NHBC without affecting any of the initial open plan home designs.
The Fire Suppression Company worked closely with the property developer from the structural design stage of this development and were tasked with designing, installing and maintaining a high pressure water mist system for each individual property within the development. Each individual home presented a number of obstacles in terms of design and installation, however the large-scale project was completed and commissioned in less than 11 weeks.
The 41 fire suppression systems are maintained every year by The Fire Suppression Company as part of an annual service and maintenance package. This ensures each system will perform as intended in the event of a fire.
